Armorblox this week launched a partner program to advance the adoption of a cloud-based cybersecurity platform that combines deep learning algorithms with natural language understanding (NLU) to secure documents and communications.
Announced at the Gartner Security & Risk Management Summit conference, the multi-tier Armorblox Partner Program for the data loss prevention (DLP) platform consists of preferred and premier levels. Premier partners are required to demonstrate ongoing pipeline and opportunity creation, product knowledge, attain sales and engineering certifications and reach a minimum revenue threshold within their first year. Premier Partners need to meet higher revenue thresholds, develop go to market plans in collaborations with Armorblox and are eligible to become a member of the company’s partner advisory board.
Armorblox is also announcing a tailored program for managed security service providers (MSSPs) that allows them to deploy Armorblox via a single management portal on behalf of multiple customers.
At present, Armorblox only has about a dozen partners for a cybersecurity platform that has only been available since last March, says Brian Harmon, senior vice president of sales and channel and for Armorblox.
“We don’t see this as a volume play,” says Harmon.
Profit margins for partners participating in the Armorblox program will typically range between 20 to 22%, added Harmon.
One of the most attractive aspects of the platform is that it addresses a range of data loss prevention (DLP) challenges via a platform that can be set up as a proof-of-concept within 15 to 30 minutes, says Harmon. Once deployed it then takes about two weeks for the platform to start uncovering a range of issues spanning everything from inadvertent loss of intellectual property to outright fraud, says Harmon. Longer term, Armorblox also intends to add tools for discovering malware that might be hidden in messages or attached to a document, adds Harmon.
Initially, Harmon says the company is positioning Armorblox as a tool that is complementary to many existing DLP tools. However, once customers become confident in its ability it’s only a matter of time before they start turning other data loss prevention (DLP) tools off.
