Titus Makes Data Loss Prevention Bet on Channel

Titus, a provider of data loss prevention (DLP) software, this week announced it is moving to a 100 percent channel model.

The multitier Titus channel program provides partners with discounts as well as up to 30 points of margin protection for registered deals made by partners participating at the highest level of Titus channel program.

In addition, Titus has revamped the online portal through which it engages partners and is providing access to self-paced certification program that enable partners to potentially become certified in as little as an hour. The certification program currently includes eight sales training modules with an additional two more technical modules for systems consultants.

At the core of the Titus product portfolio is a policy engine and associated tools for creating the policies through which organizations can enforce compliance and privacy rules by attaching metadata to files. That approach makes it feasible for Titus to also expose that metadata to a wide range of complementary third-party tools as well as a set of data classification and data identification tools that Titus has developed.

If so, check out Channel Mechanics, they offer a complete line of SaaS solutions to manage all aspects of your channel. Demos, NFRS, MDF, Promotions, Partner Leveling… they have over 20 specific solutions to help you get the most out of your partner ecosystem.

Titus currently has roughly 1,000 enterprise customers but is looking to expand that base by now relying mainly on channel partners, says Mike Kuehn, chief revenue officer for Titus.

“Most of the contracts we’ve signed to date involve seven-figure deals,” says Kuehn.

The channel program as it stands it aimed at value-added resellers, but Kuehn says that Titus will expand the program to address the unique requirements of managed service providers (MSPs) and global systems integrators (GSIs).

As regulations concerning data privacy and security become more stringent, the opportunity for solution providers to craft and resell DLP solutions continues to exponentially increase. The challenge is that as those laws and regulations come into force the technology and expertise required to comply with their provisions becomes increasingly challenging. Not every solution provider may have the skills required to avail themselves of that opportunity, but those that do invest in acquiring the appropriate level of compliance expertise are all but assured of demand for their services for many years to come.
