Pulseway has integrated its remote monitoring and management (RMM) software with ConnectWise Manage, a professional services automation (PSA) platform, as part of a continuing effort to integrate with the most widely adopted PSAs employed by channel partners.
The decision to integrate with ConnectWise was specifically driven by demand from managed service provider (MSP) customers, says Pulseway CEO Marius Mihalec.
Pulseway already offers its own PSA, but many channel partners have already made extensive investments in the ConnectWise PSA platform. Integrating with ConnectWise provides Pulseway with an opportunity to convince MSPs that have standardized on the ConnectWise PSA to employ Pulseway’s RMM software, says Mihalec.
“For MSPs, the PSA is the core of the business,” says Mihalec.
Of course, not every MSP has adopted a PSA just yet. But Milhalec notes that all the leading MSPs generally already rely on a PSA to manage their business.
While providers of RMM software and PSA software have moved aggressively into each other’s territories over the last two years, each of them has taken steps to make sure channel partners can mix and match RMM software and PSA platforms as they best see fit.
Of course, there’s not a lot of transparency these days in terms of what RMM and PSA software providers might be commonly owned. But the degree to which that matters to channel partners care may not be all that high so long as all the players involved are using well-documented application programming interfaces (APIs) to integrate with one another.
In the meantime, as the number of MSPs that rely on RMM and PSA software continues to rise, the relative business maturity of channel partners continues to increase. In fact, one of the biggest challenges many of channel partners now face as they negotiate potential mergers and acquisitions with one another is determining what RMM software and PSA platform to standardize once any potential deal has culminated.
