Evernote, a provider of a widely employed personal productivity application delivered via the cloud, is now available via the Ingram Micro Cloud Marketplace.
By partnering with Ingram Micro, the number of channel partners that will sell Evernote alongside a growing portfolio of software-as-a-service (SaaS) applications, says Craig Klemp, senior director of partnerships at Evernote.
The decision to partner with Ingram Micro was driven in part because the distributor provides partners with an integrated billing facility that enables them to more easily sell multiple cloud applications and services, says Klemp.
Evernote comes with support for a wide range of pre-built integrations with third-party SaaS applications such as Microsoft Office 365, Gmail and others, notes Klemp.
Evernote is especially interested in partners that have already added Microsoft Office 365 to their portfolio, says Klemp.
The immediate goal is to provide partners with incentives to drive adoption of Evernote as part of long-term strategy to drive recurring revenue opportunities, says Klemp. Initially, most organizations adopt Evernote in isolated pockets before discovering they can employ Evernote across a range of workflow applications, says Klemp. Most partners are likely to generate revenue both selling Evernote as well as consulting on the development of workflow applications.
“It’s a land and expand strategy,” says Klemp.
At this juncture, savvy solution providers have discovered that as they expand the number of SaaS applications they provide expands, the opportunity to provide integration and support services starts to exponentially increase. Any individual customer may be able to consume one or two SaaS applications on their own. But once an organization starts to consume three or more SaaS applications the need to share data across multiple applications quickly become apparent. It’s not too long after that realization that the search for an IT services provider with SaaS application expertise begins in earnest.
The challenge, of course, for IT services providers is making sure they can support as wide a range of complementary SaaS applications to drive the most profitable customer engagement possible.
