iguazio Launches Channel Program for Continuous Data Platform

One of the dirty secrets of modern applications is that the pipelines employed to access data are more dynamic and complex than ever. As organizations look to connect more modular pieces of code to multiple backend databases and artificial intelligence (AI) models, they quickly discover the need for a new type of platform to bring order to all that potential chaos. One of the first vendors to jump into that space is iguazio, a provider of what it describes as a continuous data platform that has now launched its first global channel program.

The goal is to recruit and reward channel partners that have expertise in various aspects of application architecture, says company CEO Asaf Somekh.

Employing a platform to manage data pipelines within an application is a relatively new discipline. Most of the time data pipelines are constructed manually by developers keen to employ multiple classes of emerging technologies such as Docker containers and Kubernetes clusters. But as applications become more complex and distributed there’s a definitive need for a platform approach to replace what amount to a do-it-yourself (DIY) approach that doesn’t scale, says Somekh.

“There’s so much technology out there,” says Somekh. “We’re looking for partners that can sell a solution.”

Are you struggling to execute the mechanics of your channel strategy?

If so, check out Channel Mechanics, they offer a complete line of SaaS solutions to manage all aspects of your channel. Demos, NFRS, MDF, Promotions, Partner Leveling… they have over 20 specific solutions to help you get the most out of your partner ecosystem.

Somekh says iguazio will provide partners with training and certifications in addition to driving deals to them that they can fulfill. The key thing about this program is that it creates an opportunity for channel partners to deliver higher value consulting services beyond the platform itself. The iguazio platform essentially provides the means around which channel partners can build a practice around data pipeline management, says Somekh.

There’s a massive movement underway to replace cumbersome monolithic applications with a new generation of modular applications based primarily on microservices enabled by technologies such as Docker containers. The problem is that all those microservices are highly dynamic. Entire sets of containers can be replaced in a minute whenever a developer adds new functionality. That, in turn, creates a need to establish new data pipelines.

Obviously, a data platform such as iguazio provides is only going to appeal to the expertise of a limited segment of the channel. But solution providers that do have expertise in this area are already finding that demand for their services far exceeds anyone’s expectations.
