StorageCraft Woos MSPs with Simpler Data Protection

StorageCraft has updated its integrated data protection and data management platform to add support for Microsoft Hyper-V virtual machine and network tunneling to improve overall scalability.

In addition, to make the latest edition of StorageCraft ShadowXafe software more attractive to managed service providers (MSPs), the company has now added more flexible monthly billing options via integration with multiple remote management and monitoring (RMM) and professional services automation (PSA) platforms that align with the way MSPs charge their customers for services.

While there is no shortage of data protection and management platforms for MSPs to standardize on, StorageCraft has been making the case for an integrated approach to can be applied independently of size or type of machine in the form of StorageCraft ShadowXafe platform that can replicate data to an on-premises environment or public cloud.

To provide that capability StorageCraft makes use of both an agent and agentless approach to data protection and management that can be applied to multiple platforms from within a single console. On the backend, StorageCraft has built its software using a modern microservices-based approach that has been optimized to reduce the complexity associated with delivering data protection and management services, says Shridar Subramanian, vice president of marketing and product management for StorageCraft.

The result is an approach to data protection and management services that enables entire virtual machines to be recovered in as little as four clicks of a mouse in as little as sixteen milliseconds, says Subramanian. At the same, Subramanian notes StorageCraft has made it simpler for MSPs to set up StorageCraft ShadowXafe.

“We’ve significantly reduced the time to set up,” says Subramanian.

By reducing the overall cost of providing data protection and management, Subramanian says StorageCraft ShadowXafe make MSPs more profitable by reducing the amount of effort required to support a client, while at the same time being able to better meet service level agreements (SLAs) for any platform.

Competition across the data protection category has always been especially stiff. However, the days when MSPs could afford to deploy multiple data protection tools for each platform they need to support is coming to an end. There are simply too many platforms that need to be supported. The challenge now is figuring out how to deliver the broadest range of data protection and management service possible while continuing to maximize the number of clients that can be supported without increasing the size of the support staff.
