Premier BPO Acquires dinCloud

For several years now dinCloud has been providing a desktop-as-a-service (DaaS) offering and other cloud services primarily via the channel. Today dinCloud announced it has been acquired by Premier BPO, a provider of business process outsourcing (BPO) services.

Both Premier BPO and dinCloud will continue to operate as separate business units overseen by a common management team, says Ali Din, chief marketing officer for dinCloud who will now assume that same role at Premier BPO. Mark Briggs, the current CEO of Premier BPO, has been named the new CEO of the combined company.

Din says both dinCloud and Premier BPO from a sales and marketing perspective they often target the same vertical industries. The dinCloud DaaS service will continue to be sold through channel partners in addition to being bundled with various BPO services provided by Premier BPO.

In general, Din says larger organizations are increasingly moving to outsource desktop management as part of larger IT services contracts, while smaller organizations continue to take a more piecemeal approach to consuming IT services. Regardless of how DaaS platforms are consumed, Din says there’s a lot more interest in consuming a platform that provides a unified application and desktop management experience than there is deploying traditional desktop virtualization software on-premises.

At the same time, Din notes the rise of digital business transformation is spurring interest in BPO as organizations look to implement best practices across a range of corporate functions.

“There’s still a lot of customization opportunities,” says Din.

Longer term, Premier BPO is also in a position to enable organizations to implement various forms of artificial intelligence applications infused with chatbots and machine and deep learning technologies to further automate those processes, says Din.

It’s too early to say just how the synergies between dinCloud and Premier BPO will manifest themselves down the road. But the one thing that is clear is that many larger organizations are demand a much more streamlined approach in terms of how IT services are expected to be delivered in the age of the cloud.
